For a lively beachfront experience, the water-lapping sands of the aptly named The Beach (JBR area) is also populated with a wealth of cool cafés, restaurants and family fun experiences. A firm local favourite and a decidedly relaxed location is Sunset Beach (Umm Suqeim) and smooth stretch of sand. Further along Jumeirah Beach Road is Kite Beach, a hotspot for the city’s kite surfing community but also a family-friendly destination with great facilities and fab food truck scene. Alongside watersports there are volleyball courts, a skatepark and more. And, book-ending the coastal stretch of sandy destinations, La Mer is a lifestyle focused option with the Laguna Waterpark, a meandering promenade, cool shopping spots and plenty of dining venues.
